5 Albums That Make Me REALLY Live

This is the first of my Pre-set list of topics. This on my favorite songs. Maybe I'll change it to albums. Yeah this is about albums, but I'm not changing the earlier sentences, only the title. There, I kinda fixed it. Okay, so these albums don't make me happy. But they do renew my will to live. So here we go.

  1. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac: This album is the first album that changed my life. I listened to it after a "heartbreak" and it just hit. I did research on the band, and found so much subtext. This is the first album I credit with helping me understand what an album truly is. A collection of songs, with a theme, that tells a story.

  2. Man On The Moon - Kid Cudi: This album is a classic. It takes me back to being nine or ten. I love it. I love this album, and this man. Need I say more? What a classic, filled with classics.

  3. This Is Happening - LCD Soundsystem: If I had to choose an album that is easier to access, it's this one. If I had to choose an album that has better singles, it's this one. If I had to choose the best album, it's Sound of Silver. But I'm recommending things so, give this one a try. Move up to Sound of Silver afterwards. LCD is one of the best bands. They're production and unique style revolutionized music, and helped blur the lines of genre (thank God). They just... sound like LCD Soundsystem. I'm a proud disciple of The Book of Murphy.

  4. In Rainbows - Radiohead: My favorite Radiohead album for years was The Bends. I adored it, and loved the songs and structure. After listening to it multiple times over, I realized In Rainbows is everything an album should be (that even I as a musician sometimes lose track of). This is a collection of phenomenal songs with a singular theme, that can be heard on their own, but with context is made a million times better. This is the bar.

  5. Pure Comedy - Father John Misty: I find it ironic that an album that provokes me to question my existence, even more than I already do, is being credited as a reason for living. But that's what good art does. It fucks you up, and makes you feel things. Something happens to me whenever I listen to this album and reach Leaving LA. I need to take a minute, an intermission of sorts. Which is fitting for this album which was almost turned into a musical. I still think it should. (Hit me up) I think this album solidifies that there's other fucking weirdos that like that feeling of staring at the eternal, pitch, absolute nothingness. This album means more to me than an album. It matters to me as art, and philosophy.
